Cambooya child care centre confirmed

Toowoomba Regional Council has approved an application by Schriek Building Group on behalf of owner Panlawn Pty Ltd to construct a child care centre at 7 Eton Street, Cambooya.

The pre-war dwelling currently on the property at 7 Eton Street in Cambooya will be removed to enable construction of a new child care centre.

The centre has been approved to cater for up to 80 children and 12 staff.

It is proposed that the 80 children will comprise 16 nursery-aged children, 20 toddler-aged children and 44 kindergarten-aged children.

The approved operating hours are between 6am and 7pm Monday to Friday.

The single storey building will have a gross floor area of 865.67m2 out of a total site area of 4,047m2.

There will be 24 on-site car parks, half of which will be for staff parking.

It will be set back 19.9m from the front boundary.

The large block of land upon which the child care centre will be built has an extensive 40 metre frontage to Eton Street.

The location is directly opposite All Saints’ Anglican Church at Cambooya.

The  developer,  Panlawn  Pty  Ltd  also  had  Wyreema Early Education on Umbiram Road constructed at a cost of $2 million in 2019.

Currently, there is one child care centre in Cambooya, C&K Cambooya Community Kindergarten on Gore Street, which provides care for children in the year before they attend prep.
