Days For Girls Need Helpers

Days for Girls will be in full swing come Springtime! Our Packing Day is Friday, 3rd September from 9.30 in Mary McKillop house Meeting Room.

Mougul Highschool students and their Kits (2020).

There are two big projects in the air so we need helpers. Regulars will be happy to be back in action and newcomers and returning members are welcome.

So you can’t sew? That is only one aspect of our work. There’s folding, threading ribbons, attaching size tags and packing kits with time for making and renewing friendships.

We need more sewers too. You will be taught the necessary skills and given the materials to work with. Most of the sewing is done at home and a gathering is held bi-monthly.

We have QR check in and obey Covid rules. We share a convivial morning tea.

Days for Girls have been operating for eight years and delivered eight thousand kits to New Guinea, Vanuatu, Cook Islands, Laos. Philippines, Sudan, Nepal, Kenya, India and contributed to a Refugee program.

Women and Girls in many countries have nothing like personal hygiene kits and by providing them women and girls have a better chance to be educated and develop dignity and self worth.
