Jam-packed Chappy Week for local chaplains

Oakey chaplain Sharon Salomon had a productive yet fun-filled Chappy Week and filled the days with programs at the local primary and high schools as well as catching up with the other chaplains in the district.

As part of Chappy Week, Chappy Sharon conducted her scheduled programs at Oakey State High School, and met with students in between planned activities.

Students at the high school enjoyed some treats on Friday with a lounge area complete with bean bags and artificial turf, cupcakes, hot Milo and hot chocolate courtesy of Chappy Sharon and her supportive committee.

At Oakey State School Chappy Sharon was on deck to assist Brekky Club volunteers with their normal menu and a Chappy Week special of pancakes as an optional extra.

Chaplaincy Committee members and helpers hosted morning tea for primary school staff on Thursday morning, before Chappy Sharon got on with her school commitments.

To complete an action packed week, on Sunday Chappy Sharon caught up with Biddeston’s Chappy Peter Brouwer at a community church service hosted by Oakey Uniting Church.
