St Andrew's farewells Rev Peter

A large gathering attended the farewell service and morning tea for Rev Peter Mayen who has been the Locum Priest for the past 18 months.

At the conclusion of the service, thank-you speeches and presentation gifts were made. Church wardens Vicki Bond and Geoff Baker extended heartfelt thanks on behalf of the parish community for this caring, spiritual ministry among us. Past warden Ian Kronk said he’d “never met another person with the faith and spiritual love to share - a ray of sunshine.” Jeanette Krienke made a presentation on behalf of The Pilgrim Group, supported by Lorraine West. Denise Farrell thanked Peter for his help in providing the service powerpoint details so she could print the weekly presentations. Visitor Charlie Uebergang thanked Peter for his service at Beauaraba Living. A powerpoint present-ation of special times of Peter’s ministry was viewed with many happy occasions he was a part of in so many lives in Pittsworth. His wife Rachel gave thanks on behalf of their family for the gift of friendship. Peter found it hard to say goodbye, as part of his sermon. He had enjoyed all the time spent at St Andrew’s and thanked everyone for their love and service to keep the parish alive. Parishioners brought along grocery items for the Mayen family. Morning tea was held in the hall. New locum Rev Tony Swanson started his service at St Andrew’s on Monday.
