Local man charged with theft of a Porsche SUV

An Oakey man was charged with multiple offences alongside three other people after Police intercepted an allegedly stolen Porsche SUV in Wilsonton Heights.


Polair observed the stolen Porsche SUV and captured Police arresting the people allegedly involved in the theft.

Around 12.30pm last Wednesday (July 14) the car, allegedly stolen from a Mount Lofty residence on July 12, was observed by police near the intersection of Long and Ruthven streets in Toowoomba.

As police approached the vehicle it allegedly mounted the kerb and sped off from the scene.

Throughout that afternoon police received multiple calls from members of the public in relation to a black SUV being driven dangerously.

Around 5pm police, including Polair, observed the car enter an apartment complex on Tor Street, Wilsonton, where two people exited and walked to a nearby residence.

Two men, including the Oakey resident, were taken into custody without incident a short time later.

The 27-years-old local man was charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, driving without a licence, receiving tainted property and burglary.

A 22-years-old Harristown man was charged with one count each of unlawful use of motor vehicle, receiving tainted property and driving without a licence.

Further inquiries led to a 28-years-old Wilsonton Heights man being charged with one count of unlawful use of motor vehicle.

All three men were remanded in custody.

A 22-years-old woman was charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and is due to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on August 11.
