Jordon makes Australian futsal team

At the age of 13, Cambooya’s Jordon Fenton-Anderson has recently been selected in the Australian futsal team for the first time to travel to the United Kingdom in October/November 2022.

The Cambooya Australia Day Junior Sportsperson 2020 recipient has recently changed from riding horses to putting on futsal boots, shinguards and kneeguards to play as a goalkeeper in the very fast game of futsal.

Her recent success at the National Club Futsal Champion-ships 2022 gained her the position.

After the four-day tournament she was thrilled to win The Golden Glove (goal keeper of the tournament) and to be named on the All Stars Team for 2022.

In the June/July holidays, she will travel to Fiji as part of
the Elite Queensland 14s Team.

She earned her spot on this team after a successful Queens-land Invitational 2021 tournament.

Jordon previously competed in Interschool Equestrian
events, being part of the Queensland team to compete at Nationals with success.

She started playing futsal when she joined the Harristown State High School Football Academy in 2021.

Jordon has had a fantastic first season for the school being named The Football Academy Golden Glove winner and named on the All Stars Team for 2021.

She attributes her success to the amazing coaches she has had over the past 12 months and is very excited that 2022 will see Toowoomba have its first ever Futsal Academy.

Jordon also plays soccer and is currently training in preparation for the season to start, as well as preparation for her international tours.

Jordon has some huge personal goals in futsal and soccer and making her first Australian team at 13 is a dream come true for her.
