11/11/23: Pittsworth pauses to reflect

Many gathered at the Pittsworth R.S.L. last Saturday at 11am for the Remembrance Day service, commemorating 105 years since the ending of the First World War.

A crowd of approximately fifty was in attendance for the ceremony.

Pittsworth RSL Sub branch President Allan Petersen OAM welcomed attendees, Sub branch Vice President Mike Vogler recited the timeless poem In Flanders Fields and Ros Scotney OAM said the commemorative address.

Wreaths were laid by Toowoomba Region Councillor Edwina Farquhar and Garry O’Brien.

Pittsworth Cadet Ashford McEwan played The Last Post and Rouse.

The National Anthems of Australia and New Zealand were performed by Carol McEwan.
