2025 School Leaders Awards and Achievements

Allora was well represented at the Warwick State High School Awards Night with Will Day, Scots PGC College Speech Day with Bailey Harm and Assumption College Awards with Ziggy Gibson.

Awards and Achievements of Will Day - 2025 Male School Captain

Will was presented with an outstanding number of Awards including –

Academic Excellence Award for obtaining straight A’s in every subject.

Achieved the highest marks in his cohort for 5 out of 6 of his QCE subjects and received highest mark awards for Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematical Methods and Specialist Maths.

Will also received Service Award Full colours and Curricular Enrichment Full Colours in recognition of his contribution to school and community.

He received four of the school’s major awards and an additional special award for the student obtaining the highest overall marks in specialist maths as well as an award for obtaining 100% leading into external exams in a number of his subjects.

Will received both defence force awards, that being the ADF Long Tan Youth Leadership and Teamwork Award and the ADF Future Innovators Award.

He was the recipient of the Toowoomba Orthodontists Academic Excellence Award.

Will was also Champion Male Swimmer and Champion Overall swimmer at WSHS and was named as the person who holds the highest number of sporting records ever held by an individual at WSHS. Will currently holds all but four of the male swim records at WSHS.

Awards and Achievements of Bailey Harm – 2025 Male Vice Captain

Received two of the College Major Awards including -

OSCA Prize/Rhodes Scholarship Qualification for Academic, Sporting and Public Relations and Sportsman of the Year Award for eighth consecutive school year.

Bailey also received the Phil Doyle Trophy for Athletic Endeavour and the David Fox Memorial prize for Most Outstanding Boy Swimmer.

Bailey was the Scots PGC Swimming and Athletics Captain for 2025 and was selected to Captain both the Darling Downs and QLD Swim Teams in his final school year.

Bailey has received and accepted an early offer to University Sunshine Coast to study Environmental Science/Animal Ecology while pursuing his swimming.

From December, Bailey will be training with a National Squad under Coach Ash Delaney at the St Andrew’s Swim Club on the Sunshine Coast.

Awards and Achievements of Ziggy Gibson - 2025 Cultural Leader

Received a number of special awards including –

Student of the Year Mayor’s medal award, Academic application award in music, the Academic application award in Maths methods, and the Cultural Leader award.

Ziggy has played an important role at Assumption including helping the other Year 12 Leaders. One of their projects was to approach local businesses, asking for raffle donations with the proceeds going to Life Flight.

At School he was part of the Assumption Showcase performing a variety of different acts.

Ziggy was in the senior band and concert band where he played the keyboard and the French horn.

Other involvements for Ziggy included playing in the Basketball Team and being part of the Debating Team.

Ziggy now plans to head to QUT to do a double degree in Law and Justice.
