A clean sweep for Pittsworth Danes
On Sunday, the Danes were undefeated across all four rugby league games which were played at the Kennel against Oakey Bears and South Burnett.

Before the First Grade match, an ANZAC ceremony was held in honour of the fallen, former and current servicemen and women.
Members of the Pittsworth RSL Sub-Branch organised the ceremony and Pittsworth 19ACU cadet Ashford McEwan was the bugler.
A Grade Report
Pittsworth 30 - Oakey 26
What ensued was an 80-minute slug fest with the large Oakey forward pack coming up against a Danes pack determined to flex its own physicality.
The Danes completed sets at an abysmal rate and continually invited Oakey back into the contest after working hard to earn momentum, however it was defence that ultimately helped the home side hang on to a 30-26 victory.
Cooper Bowyer was enormous in the front row and was supported by a pair of impactful stints by bench forward Cody Evans.
Stewart Free showed his athleticism with a number of classy touches, and Alex Kahler earned man of the match honours through a high work rate and asking plenty of questions of the opposition defence.
Well done to all other coaching staff and players to take out wins in all four grades.
The Danes are now looking forward to consistent matches with an away trip to Clifton next Sunday to contest the Duggan-Sutton Shield.
Hope to see plenty of travelling supporters!

Pittsworth 42 - Oakey 16
On Anzac Sunday the winter winds decided to come on throughout the evening which made for a challenging day of footy.
A different top 20 this week was another test of the Reggie’s squad to stand up and find some consistency with a two-week break.
We had a tardy start without completing our first three sets.
Then we had Jake Johnson come up with a great 40/20 play which switched on the momentum for the side.
Winning both halves of footy, came with some nice doubles for the day for the speed machine Pat Quinn and Matt Butler.
Congratulations to Matt Butler for player’s player - Matt, you showed that determination and speed will get you through the advantage line, well deserved mate.
We would also really like to thank our committee that worked so hard to prepare for Friday and then have it changed to a Sunday - a credit to you all.
For the diggers that attended, for a great service, and those that have fallen before us - thank you.
The players and club felt the importance of the Anzac weekend with a great performance of all four grades.
Reggies, it’s now time to pull the socks up and move to focusing on winning away.

Womens Report
Pittsworth 10 - Oakey 0
On Sunday the mighty Pittsworth Danes took to the field for our annual ANZAC match at home against Oakey.
Our ladies have been putting in a lot of hard work at training, and this week we aimed to make a real statement.
While we may not be the biggest team in the competition, we certainly make up for it with heart and determination.
Our defence was exceptional across the board, but I want to give a special shout out to our forwards for holding their ground against a much larger forward pack.
They did an incredible job keeping the Bears at bay.
Offensively, we showed significant improvement this week - something we’ve been focusing on.
Our forwards excelled in making those crucial post-contact metres, setting the stage for our back line to shine.
The hard work our backs put into getting the ball to the edges paid off, as we
saw remarkable tries from our centers, Amelia O’Toole and Lucy Loyd on both the left and right sides.
The final score was a solid 10-0 in favor of the Danes.
Keeping the Bears scoreless is a testament to the entire team.
Player’s player was Ella Hollis.
The best part of coaching is witnessing the ladies implement what we’ve been working on during training.
Now the goal is to maintain that consistency and bring the same energy next week.
We couldn’t be prouder of this team’s effort.

Pittsworth 30 -
South Burnett 28
The young Danes earned their first win for the season at home on Sunday morning against a strong South Burnett team.
Starting strong, we scored the first try before errors gifted South Burnett possession with repeat sets that they turned into points, taking the lead into half time.
Shortly after the break South Burnett scored again before Pittsworth, with their backs to the wall and a player in the sin bin, managed to fight back.
Maintaining possession was key and with back-to-back tries to our forwards Will Hanlon, Auguste Lehued and Tysne Stevens we regained the lead.
A late surge from South Burnett kept the game interesting right up until the final whistle with Pittsworth securing a 30-28 victory.
Players’ player votes went to Ethan Brose, Quinn Collins followed by Matt Cattarin and Tysne Stevens.
