The Allora Swimming Pool came alive on Saturday 18 October as the Swim Carnival made a splash with over 140 swimmers competing from across the region.

Hosted by the Allora Swim Club, the event was a vibrant celebration of community spirit, friendly competition, and youth athleticism.

Swimmers ranging in age and experience took to the water in a full program of 50-metre events across all strokes.

A key highlight of the day was the Seamus Ryan Memorial Breaststroke Handicap — a beloved tradition honouring a much-missed past club member. In two exciting and closely contested races, Maisy Brunton of Warwick Swim Club and Liam Thorne from Stanthorpe Swimming Club emerged as the winners.

The success of the carnival was made possible by the efforts of a dedicated team of volunteers who filled roles in timekeeping, marshalling, canteen and barbecue duties.

Special thanks also go to the DDRSA officials for their continued support and professionalism in running the meet.
