Robert and Kathryn Hoey were warmly welcomed as new members of the group.

The executive team: President Garry Wilson, Vice-President Jon Constable, Secretary Mary-Lou Gittins, and Treasurer Kaye Wilson—were all re-elected and accepted their nominations for the coming year.

In his opening remarks, President Wilson noted that, “Combined, we are successfully providing modern medical practice and support to the Allora and surrounding communities.”

The 2024/2025 year proved highly productive for both the AMSG and the Allora Medical Centre. In his tabled report, Mr Wilson highlighted key achievements across equipment investment, maintenance, and facility upgrades.

Equipment Investment:

Purchase of a new ultrasound machine for the medical centre. Acquisition of a medical bed for the consultation room. Coordination of a new security system installation.

Maintenance and Repairs:

Replacement of the front sliding door mechanism at the Medical Centre to improve patient safety. Continued maintenance of the septic treatment plant to ensure its long-term function. Regular servicing of air-conditioning units in both buildings. Removal and trimming of trees and shrubs at the front of the centre.

Upgrades:

Completion of the medical centre frontage remodelling, including new handrails and reflective strips on the footpath edging to improve safe access. Additional reflective strips and handrails installed where required. Construction of new car parking facilities for the Donovan Building.

The AMSG also proudly supported the recent Road to Research fundraising initiative and acknowledged the outstanding contributions of the two local families involved.

Looking ahead, the group is committed to another productive year, ensuring the Allora community and surrounding districts continue to receive high-quality, modern medical support.
