Allora P-10 Students Hop Into World of Entrepreneurship

In a bid to foster real-world entrepreneurial skills, the Year 8 Economics and Business class at Allora P-10 has embarked on an exciting journey by running its own small business project to fundraise for the school.

The students will be selling fun “Easter Tweets” starting next week for $2 each.

Each Easter Tweet is a treat with a message attached.  All staff and students are welcome to order the treat and write a kind message to someone they appreciate in the school.

The Easter Tweets will be delivered to classrooms in Week 9.

Under the guidance of their teacher, the budding entrepreneurs have been given the opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge into practice.

“This project allows us to ‘learn while doing’ with a hands on experience to make us think of all the aspects of running a successful business” says Fletcher Griffin, head of the human resources team and spokesperson.

The students have taken charge of every aspect of the business, from conceptualising and pitching ideas to managing finances, marketing, human resources and operations.

Sophie Masters, the head of the finance team, says “We are learning how to calculate our income and expenses to ensure we are generating funds for the school”.

“The experience also ties into what we are learning in Unit 1 and what we will be assessed on this term” says Benjamin Mason, head of the operations team.

Allora P-10 takes pride in nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit of its students and is committed to providing them with opportunities to thrive in the ever-evolving world of business and entrepreneurship.

“The Easter Tweets are a really fun way to connect with each other at school and let them know you appreciate them”.

Please join Miss Jones in supporting these wonderful students with allowing your son/daughter to purchase a $2 Easter Tweet for someone special at Allora State School.
