Looking back to February 2021, Allora’s last Showgirls competition.

The last Allora competition was held in 2021 – then Covid hit, throwing everyone’s life in different directions.

Big plans are underway for the 2026 Allora Show including a Show Cocktail Evening instead of a formal Show Ball.  With tight timeframes and many exciting elements coming together, a cocktail celebration will create a wonderful evening of fun and community spirit.

Here is an interesting story on why it’s beneficial to enter the Show Girl or Rural Ambassador competition as told by a previous entrant -

“The Allora Show Society Country Life Show Girl and Rural Ambassador Competition will change your life. On a stage addressing a crowd of smiling faces, comfortably mixing with interesting people, actively involved in your community; it could be you. And loving it all the way.

“I used to be a shy sort of person, but when I entered the Showgirl competition in my early twenties, I discovered so many positive aspects of myself I didn’t know existed,” says Carol Lyall, President of the Allora Show Society, reflecting on her experience as a contestant.

The Allora Show Society has created a program for the 2026 Show that will take contestants step by step through the process of becoming either a Showgirl or a Rural Ambassador at both senior and junior levels.

The Showgirl competition is open to any female aged between 18 and 28 (juniors 12 to 17).

The Rural Ambassador competition is open to entrants aged between 20 and 30 (juniors 12 to 19).

All that is required is an interest in rural community and a desire to develop as an individual.

Both senior and junior entrants will be taught skills in communicating with others, in expressing opinions in a non-threatening manner, and in how to maintain self-composure when challenged.

This program provides an opportunity to excel in leadership, community involvement, self-development, and confidence.

So….you might be thinking, how could it be humanly possible that I could be a better
person.
