Another Crash at Notorious Junction
The Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the cause of a serious crash last Thursday at the junction of the New England Highway, Hodgson Vale Road and Luck Road.

At around 5pm a sedan and a Ford Ranger utility collided, leaving debris spread across the scene.
In a familiar scenario at the site, a swarm of emergency services vehicles gathered to render assistance.
Five units were despatched by Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) along with four crews from Queensland Fire Department (QFD) and police from Toowoomba.
A QFD spokesperson said firefighters used cutting gear to free one person from the sedan and had to remove a door to free a second person who was in the utility.
QAS paramedics treated three crash victims before transporting them, all in stable condition, to the Toowoomba Hospital.
Those injured included a female in her 40s who was treated for back and leg injuries, a male in his 60s treated for shoulder, arm and significant chest injuries, and a male in his 50s who was one of those trapped and received treatment for back and leg injuries.
Peak hour traffic on the highway was disrupted for more than two hours as emergency personnel freed, then treated the injured, cleared the road of debris and tow truck operators removed the vehicles, while the Police Forensic Crash Unit began investigating the cause of the crash.
Southbound traffic was able to be directed through the site, but northbound motorists were diverted onto Luck Road, then Drayton Connection Road.
The road junction is the site of many incidents with locals puzzled as to the cause because the view is quite open.
