Business development officer John MacGregor and CEO Pierre Steyn will offer an insight into their work at FTA Queensland and the Qantas Pilot Academy. Based at Wellcamp Airport the flight academy has seen around 500 pilots graduate since opening in 2018 and currently has around 170 enrolled. The Academy offers airline cadet and self-funded aviation training programs with a training ehtos focussed on producing future airline and helicopter captains rather than simply training cadets to obtain a licence. “A lot of people don’t realise we have 8 simulators, 32 aircraft, full hangar facilities and 7 aircraft engineers... there’s really nothing else like ti in all of South East Asia,” Mr MacGregor said. He said they were also keen to talk about what the Academy brings to the Darling Downs community. Also speaking at the breakfast will be a representative from the Pittsworth Women’s Shed which recently notched up its first year, and local business owner Tammy Vary, pictured, whose vibrant Lilly Pilly Style Boutique has evolved into a glittering destination in Pittsworth’s Yandilla Street.Cost is $30 per person and bookings are essential on 0481 353 055 or email info@pittsworth.org before June 16.
