Awards galore for Back Plains SS
Many Back Plains State School students were all smiles last Friday afternoon at their assembly as a few groups took home awards from the regional Opti-MINDS competition and one student won a QSuper competition.

The Opti-MINDS Creative Sustainability Challenge is an inclusive team challenge which empowers participants to think, create and communicate.
The Back Plains students participated in Division I, which is for years P-6.
Teams are required to work together on a Long Term Challenge for up to six weeks
without assistance from anyone outside the team.
Students had ten minutes to present the product of their ideas to a panel of judges and an audience on Challenge Day.
The teams must also participate in an unseen Spontaneous Challenge on Opti-MINDS Day, which requires a rapid interchange of ideas and the ability to think effectively, creatively, and well-developed group cooperation skills.
