Bears fight hard for no reward against Gatton
The undefeated Gatton Hawks continued their winning run with a 20-6 win at Cahill Park over a plucky Oakey Bears outfit on Saturday night.

Oakey took the fight up to the Hawks and a tight first half saw Gatton go to the break only 4-0 in front.
Two quick tries early in the second stanza took the Hawks to a 12-0 lead.
Oakey kept up the pressure until Brad Zampech scored his second try 10 minutes from time.
A few minutes later, Oakey’s Will Bevin touched down and the successful conversion made it a 16-6 scoreline, before a last minute try to Nick Short made it a final score of 20-6.
Oakey remains on two wins for the year, but will take a lot out of the game against the high-flying Hawks.
Olly Bichel was outstanding in attack and defence for Gatton with form prop Dalton Walker very strong, playing most of the game for the Hawks, who were coming off a hard-fought Madsen-Rasmussen Trophy clash the previous week in Toowoomba.
For Oakey, their forward play was the highlight, with Richard Murray in particular causing havoc. Tony Clevin continued his great season with a solid effort at fullback.
The Bears will fancy themselves at home against Goondiwindi on Saturday night.
Gatton Hawks 20 (Brad Zampech 2, Nick Short, Robbie Jones, Tate Rhea tries) defeated Oakey Bears 6 (Will Bevin try Tony Clevin goal)
