Bears hold Awards Night
The Oakey Bears hosted their Presentation of Awards Night on Saturday 23 September. Here's the full list of this year's award winners
A few words from Club President Jessica Barnes:
“Although we have had a mixed bag of emotions this season it’s important to remember that we’ve learnt some valuable lessons.
“One of the great things about this sport is that there’s always room for improvement, we can all work on doing something just a little better.
“When everyone does that, the results can be amazing and if there’s one thing I know about each and every one of you, it’s that there isn’t anyone who wouldn’t give his/her all for the club.
“This season would not have happened without the continued support of our sponsors.
“Each sponsor’s involve-ment in our club is very much appreciated and you are all an important part of the Oakey Bears.
“I would like to express our continued gratitude to all our sponsors for their dedication to the Oakey Bears and for making a difference in our community by supporting our local club.
“Brendan Dolan was rewarded and recognised for his contribution to the Oakey Bears.
“Your great generosity has had a profound and lasting impact on the Oakey Bears.
“Your willingness to share your time and by volunteering with this Club says a lot about you as human being.
“Your willingness to give selflessly to help others speaks to both your strength and the quality of your character.
“While I know that you chose to volunteer selflessly and without expectation of being recognised or rewarded, today I wish to do just that.
“I want to let you know just how much your dedication is appreciated and to make sure that everyone here tonight and at the club is forever grateful.
“Please know that you are appreciated, valued and cherished.
“Thank you Brendan.
“I want to thank all our wonderful volunteers for the season.
“Without volunteers this club wouldn’t operate. These roles are unpaid and the time, effort and commitment you all have contributed is greatly appreciated.
“To the Executive Team, Lee and Kristine thank you for all that you do behind the scenes, your support has been greatly appreciated.”
