Big Millmerran muster for kids' poetry book
Well known bush poet Gary Fogarty and young illustrator Darcie Harris launched their illustrated book of children’s poetry, I Wish I Was a Farmer, in Millmerran on Saturday.
Many local families and supporters attended the launch at the Mill Inn Tavern, and poems from
the book were read by the pair and by Toowoomba Region Mayor Geoff McDonald.
Gary said he and Darcie were delighted with the turn-out and initial sales
had exceeded their expectations.
The pair signed copies for people attending the launch.
The book features a collection of Gary Fogarty’s children’s poems and colourful illustrations by Darcie Harris depicting farm animals and celebrating life on the land and it was created to be read to pre-schoolers.
