‘Big town problems’ creeping nearer
The Greenmount Memorial Hall and the adjacent park were vandalised on the weekend of 8-9 November, with senseless damage caused to windows and park facilities.

Greenmount Returned Soldiers Memorial Hall Association President Niah Stenzel said the vandalism is believed to have occurred on Saturday.
She said the damage, which has been reported to police, includes three windows of the hall smashed by rocks.
At Bi-centennial Park, operated by Toowoomba Regional Council, toilet lids have been smashed, toilet seats ripped off and even the public barbecue was urinated on.
Mrs Stenzel said it is a shame for a small, tight-knit community like Greenmount to be affected by such vandalism, which you would normally expect to take place in a city.
“It’s no longer just a country community,” she said.
Mrs Stenzel said the perpetrator is believed to be a single high school aged student.
Sadly, the incident at Greenmount is not the only act of vandalism to have occurred recently, with extensive damage caused to the Cambooya Pony Club clubhouse.
