Biggest Morning tea puts spotlight on cancer
Residents and visitors gathered at CWA House for the annual Biggest Morning Tea event, which shines a spotlight on those suffering with cancer.
Eddie Dean entertained the crowd with some music, while artist Katie Byrne displayed her painting, which went up as a raffle prize.
The event is co-ordinate by the Cancer Council which says that one in every two Australians is diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85.
In all, a total of $515.30 was raised for Cancer Council, which will go towards cancer treatment and research with the Council’s partnership groups.
Morning tea organiser Allyson Gardener said she was extremely happy with the outcome of the event and the support received from local businesses.
“We would like to express our thanks and gratitude to all the businesses that kindly donated to our multi draw raffle,” she said.
Those in attendance thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment.
