Bowls success for Clifton local

The bowls skill of one Clifton local has contributed to a successful win for the Drayton Bowls Club team in a District competition.

Mick Kindelan competed in the Darling Downs District Division 1 pennants teams this season and was part of the winning Drayton Bowls Club team which took out the win in the grand final played on Saturday against North Toowoomba.   

The Darling Downs District combines the areas of Toowoomba, Pittsworth, Crows Nest, Laidley and Millmerran.

Mick has been a member of the Drayton Bowls Club since 2024 and is now the newly appointed National Umpire for Drayton with the intention of umpiring at higher level competitions into the future.

He is also a qualified coach and loves to encourage the younger generation into the game of lawn bowls.

The Drayton Bowls Club team will now go on to compete in the District Champion play-offs against Cunningham in the coming weeks.
