Brian Letton was a popular choice of performer at the Gowrie Little Plain Hall on Sunday afternoon.

There were 150 people in the hall, which was packed to the rafters.

Gowrie Little Plain Community Centre President Barry Heinemann said he was very pleased with how the afternoon unfolded.

“It was one of the best concerts we have had, Brian was very impressed with the hall and the sound in the hall,” he said.

“There were a lot of people that have never been there before.”

Visitors turned up from as far away the South Burnett, Western Downs, Southern Downs and Brisbane.

The Oakey Champion did not recognise the vast majority of the faces in the hall.

Letton, who is based in Tamworth, performed a mix of his own original songs and covers of classics.

Before visiting Gowrie Little Plain Hall, he performed at Mulwala Country Music Festival, Terara and Morwell.

He will perform at the Boondooma Homestead Festival later this year.

The concert was supported by Toowoomba Regional Council.

Brian Letton is set to return to Gowrie Little Plain Hall on 4th May 2025.
