With the support of Qld Government and COTA, the Allora & District Historical Society (ADHS) hosted a Bridal Extravaganza and High Tea showcasing over a century of Allora bridal fashions.

Gowns dating back to 1882, and throughout all the decades, including the roaring 20’s, flower-power 60’s, shoulder-padded 90’s, right up to today, were dusted off and spruced  up to be worn again by some of our community’s finest, young women who modelled the gowns of generations past.

The highly successful event was the culmination of many months of planning, research and hard work  on behalf of the tireless team of volunteers at the Allora Historical Society.

ADHS Secretary, Wendy Free said, “Seeing the  event unfold was like a dream come true!”

President, Jim Andersen thanked the many volunteers and the community for all their support in helping raise funds for the Relocation Project which will soon see the little Drayton Street museums positioned in the main Allora museums’ location in Warwick Street, further enhancing this dynamic historic precinct that collects and chronicles, showcases and shares, the wonderful stories of Allora and its people.
