Champion effort in showjumping
Talented equestrian teen, Peyton Alexander, competed at the Darling Downs Showjumping Club (DDSJC)’s Easter Showjumping Championships in Pittsworth on 3rd and 4th April, with outstanding results.
Peyton excelled over the two days of competition with her horses, ‘A Fox Zee Max’ and ‘Book of Life’, claiming two first-place finishes.
Riding her trusted partner A Fox Zee Max, she rose above a strong field of 26 competitors to take out the John England Drainage 60cm A2.
Peyton continued her winning form in the Waalmonic Acres Horse Stud 60–70cm Championship, where she triumphed over 30 riders to secure victory and earn a championship rug.
Given the current price of diesel, it was a relief that the event, described by Peyton’s mother, Katrina Alexander, as their favourite of the year, was held in their home town.
Ms Alexander expressed how proud she is of Peyton’s continued achievements, especially her dedication to maintaining strong progress in her home schooling while training and competing full-time in equestrian events.
Peyton also showcased exciting progress on the weekend with Book of Life, her new off-the-track thoroughbred.
She is now fundraising for the chance to compete against international competitors at the Festival of Showjumping in Caboolture in June.
