Chase by Police Ended at Allora

A wanted Logan-reserve man's Hollywood like getaway attempt ended at Allora

There was plenty of excitement around Allora on Australia Day when a swarm of police vehicles descended upon Allora.

At the time police did not issue any information relating to the event however details have now been released.

Shortly before 10am on the Monday, Police from Allora, Clifton, Warwick and Toowoomba became involved in the pursuit and apprehension of a wanted Logan Reserve man.

The chase ended outside Allora township, near the Freedom service station on the New England Highway.

Local Police had observed the offender travelling in a stolen Jeep 4WD, outbound on the Gatton Clifton Road at West Haldon.

He attempted to evade Police, with the Officers involved then successfully deploying a tyre deflation device, commonly known as “stingers”, on the Highway between Clifton and Allora.

Despite the vehicle eventually losing all tyres, the man continued to drive a further distance along the highway, before losing control of the vehicle just past the main intersection at the Warwick Street turn-off into Allora.

Police then boxed-in the man using an unmarked Police 4WD.

The man was arrested following a brief struggle.

The alleged offender, Bradley James Appleton, aged 36, has since appeared before the Toowoomba Magistrates Court and has been remanded in custody.

Appleton has been charged with multiple offences including Break/Enter Premises, Wilful Damage, Unlawful use of a motor vehicle, Evade Police, Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle, Obstruct Police and Possessing Drug Utensils.
