Christmas spirit shines at Hodgson Vale
On Friday, 29 November, the Hodgson Vale Community Sports Club brought together locals for a heart-warming Community Christmas Party, kicking off the festive season in style.
From 5pm, the Club’s tennis courts buzzed with laughter and excitement as a variety of games set the mood for an unforgettable evening.
Children eagerly lined up for face painting and balloon creations, all courtesy of the Club.
More than 150 hungry partygoers tucked into classic Aussie fare - juicy hamburgers and piping hot baked spuds.
The aroma of the barbecue filled the air as neighbours mingled under a balmy sky, sharing stories and enjoying the laid-back atmosphere.
At 6.30pm, cheers erupted as Santa Claus made a grand entrance on his sleigh, delighting young and old alike.
Every child received a bag of lollies and an ice-block, adding an extra sparkle to their smiles.
The absence of storms meant families could linger outdoors, soaking up the festive spirit well into the evening.
“The turnout was fantastic, and the energy was just brilliant,” President Gavin Smith said.
“It’s events like these that remind us how lucky we are to be part of such a close-knit community.”
