They will replace doctors Rob Marcok, Desiree Tee, Andrew Choo and Niall Graham who are transitioning from the Practice for varying family and professional reasons, and Director of Medical Services Dr Jo Pappas while she takes Parental Leave.

Clifton Community Health Services General Manager Brad Jones said the Practice was currently seeking to engage two locum doctors until the positions were filled.

“Our local medical practice provides a vital service to our community and we are committed to maintaining quality staff to meet the needs of our patients and residents,” Mr Jones said.

“It is always sad when we farewell well-liked and experienced team members but we understand that people’s circumstances change and some staff changes from time to time are inevitable.

“The coincidence of multiple doctors leaving around the same time is quite exceptional though for our Practice.

“While this recruitment process is underway and doctor services are reduced, we unfortunately won’t be
in a position to accept any new patients for the short term.

“This will help to ensure that we can continue to provide quality GP services to the hospital, nursing home and our current patients.

“It is also likely that patients will need to wait longer for an appointment and may have to see a different doctor.

“We thank our patients for their understanding and patience during this transitional time,” Mr Jones said.

Meanwhile, long-term GPs Dr Santiago Celis-Monsalves has renewed his contract and Dr Francisco Rodriguez-Letters has reaffirmed his commitment to the Practice, and continue to provide their services.

Anne-Marie Donovan has also been appointed Interim Practice Manager and will play a key role in recruiting the new staff over the coming months.

“We congratulate Anne-Marie on her appointment and appreciate the experience and expertise she brings to this role,” Mr Jones said.
