Organiser Pru Barkla said the 21 participants ranged from the age of 18 all the way up to 80.

“The Southern Downs Pickleball Association (based in Warwick) demonstrated the game then coached all throughout the four hours of play,” Mrs Barkla said.

“All participants expressed interest to continue playing.

“Seventeen apologies received with a definite expression of interest to play,” Mrs Barkla said.

She said the next step is to form a Clifton Community Player Group and work through suitable times to play through the week.

“We will play during the week on a day to be confirmed as well as an evening session,” she said.

“The nature of this pickleball game has an inclusive framework that welcomes players of all
ages and skill levels embodying the true spirit of community.”
