Chelsea plays for the Western Clydesdales in the state-wide Under 19s competition as well as Brothers in Toowoomba Rugby League, which involves a lot of travel and other expenses.

To help Chelsea and her mother Teena cover the costs, Clifton QCWA member Wannapa Foytong donated $200.

Further fundraising will be taking place at the Clifton Ute and Boots markets on Saturday, 6 May.

The QCWA will have a stall and raffle, with proceeds to go towards Chelsea’s footballing endeavours.

The Clifton QCWA branch hopes it can help her achieve her dream of one day playing in the NRLW.

The CWA ladies are also planning a timely celebration.

As the date coincides with the coronation of Charles III and Camilla, expect to see something akin to the King’s Guard - the famous British soldiers with red coats and black bearskin hats - on King Street.

President Val Watson said it is an exciting time for the Clifton branch and its 13 members, as they have recently been successful in receiving grants to install air conditioning and to paint the exterior of the building.
