Community Chest gives back to Oakey Historical Museum
The Oakey Historical Museum will now be able to pay for its ongoing running expenses and maintenance thanks to a donation from the Bernborough Tavern’s Community Chest fundraising program.

Oakey Historical Museum secretary/treasurer Fay Telford said the organisation is very grateful to receive the funds of almost $500 from the Community Chest program.
“We are really honoured to be nominated to receive the donation,” she said.
“It is certainly welcomed and will go a long way towards paying for our running expenses.”
Mrs Telford said the group also intended to give back to the program by supporting the raffles when they can.
Community Chest co-ordinator John Webster said this month the raffle funds will go to the Oakey Junior Cricket Club.
Raffles are drawn Saturday at the Bernborough Tavern from 1.30pm.
