Community spirit shines at Christmas in Pittsworth
The Pittsworth District Alliance hosted Christmas in Pittsworth on 9th December at the Showgrounds, welcoming large crowds for an evening of fun and festive cheer.

“A heartfelt thank you goes out to the entire Pittsworth community who came along and supported the event,” Secretary of the Pittsworth District Alliance, Belinda McKinlay said.
“Your enthusiasm and participation are what truly make these occasions so special, bringing everyone together to celebrate and create wonderful memories.
“We’re grateful for your ongoing support and community spirit,” she said.
Numbers were improved from last year, with 839 armbands being sold to individuals for unlimited access to rides.
There were more market stalls and a larger fireworks display which made the overall outcome very successful.
The Vikings Soccer Club operated a food stall with hot dogs, pies and sandwiches.
“All your tasty treats were a hit and brought warmth and cheer to the festivities, making the day even more enjoyable for everyone,” Ms McKinlay said.
The Pittsworth Showgirl entrants ran the Cook’s Soft Drinks van, Fay Dukes’ Bean and Gone Coffee kept spirits high, and volunteers from the Pittsworth and District Campdraft Association kept the bar in operation.
“Your hard work and friendly service were greatly appreciated, adding to the enjoyment of the day and helping everyone stay cool and comfortable during the festivities,” Ms McKinlay said.
The Pittsworth Lions Club and Pittsworth Scouts worked together to feed the masses with a barbecue dinner, which was an enjoyable meal for many families.
There was endless entertainment with face painting, live music by Andrew Kucks, illusions by Mr Fye the Magician, kids crafts and Carnival Land Rides including the dodgems.
Around 7pm, Santa arrived aboard the Land Train, giving high-fives to the children as he made his way to the Christmas sleigh to hand out lollies donated by Pittsworth Confectionery.
The Pittsworth District Alliance announced the winners of the Santa and His Friends Hunt as Henry Woodham, Thea Sauverain and Riley Schultz.
At 8pm, a dazzling display of Sparky’s fireworks was reported as being ‘exceptional’.
