Cousins are NRLW champions
Two cousins with links to Westbrook, Shenae Ciesiolka and Jada Ferguson, were part of the Brisbane Broncos side that won the 2025 NRLW Premiership.

When cousins Shenae Ciesiolka and Jada Ferguson aren’t staying in Brisbane, they live with their parents Brett and Kayleen (Shenae) and Wayne and Jodie (Jada) at Westbrook.
Ferguson, who has enjoyed a career best season, was surprisingly benched in favour of Destiny Brill to start the match, in what may have been a tactical decision by coach Scott Prince to use her pace later in the match.
If that was the case, it worked with Jada recording 57 dummy half-run metres and finishing fourth in the tackle count despite playing only the 42 minutes.
By contrast, Cieisolka was only given four minutes off the bench at the end of the match, touching the ball once.
If she had any personal disappointment, it didn’t show at the final siren as all the Broncos players went up in jubilation at the tight 22-18 win over the defending premiers.
It’s Ciesiolka’s second premiership ring with the Brisbane Broncos, having won one in her first season after coming across from rugby sevens in 2020.
At the moment, barring injury and yet-to-be announced signings, she looks likely to play more minutes in 2025 following the departure home of centre and Karyn Murphy Medal winner Mele Hufanga to the New Zealand Warriors.
