Creativity flourishes in sewing class
Nine girls participated in the Pittsworth Crafty Quilters’ (PCQ) sewing class over the school holidays.

This year’s task was to create a wall hanging using denim.
Because the girls were so accomplished, they also made pin cushions, and even started on their own creative projects.
For their wallhangings, each of them sketched a design of what they wanted the finished product to look like, and completed their own cutting, gluing and stitching.
The PCQ purchased a stockpile of jeans from Beauaraba Op Shop in preparation for the sewing class.
This was the third year of running the school holiday program which is open to children in Grades 6, 7 and 8.
A great way to learn a new skill!
