Recently, the Pittsworth Vikings undertook soccer sessions at local schools, led by a group of young individuals from the club.

These young people not only play the game of soccer, but volunteer for the club in a variety of ways.

Ayden Dowe, Ryley Dowe, Annebelle Parke, Courtney Dowe and Qwyntan Pearson are examplars of leadership, and are an inspiration to  younger students with their passion, enthusiasm, and expertise.

From setting up and organising activities to encouraging students, they have shown remarkable leadership in the last few weeks, when they visited local schools to share their love of soccer and encourage students to play the game.

Under the guidance of Krissi Parke, a Pittsworth Vikings committee member, these students, ranging from Year 9 to Year 12 volunteered their time to coordinate these sessions amongst their already busy school and work schedules.

According to Mrs Parke, these students were eager from the beginning and their enthusiasm never wavered.

“They were always ready to set up the activities and were able to make adjustments for the students if they could see it didn’t suit,” she said.

“The students from the local schools loved having them visit and teach them so many skills,” Mrs Parke said.

With up and coming leaders like these, the future of sports clubs in Pittsworth is looking bright.
