Former Ambulance OIC farewelled
A funeral service was held in Toowoomba on Monday when members of the Clifton community joined with family and friends to bid a final farewell to the former Officer In Charge of Clifton Ambulance Station Robert (Rob) Wardrop.

Mr Wardrop lost his life in a freak crash on the Fraser Coast on Monday August 25.
Reports indicate that two vehicles were involved in a crash and one of them bounced back and struck Mr Wardrop’s motorcycle.
Rob Wardrop joined the Queensland Ambulance Transport Brigade as an Honorary Officer in September 1988 at Murgon.
He joined Queensland Ambulance Service as a full time Paramedic in June 1991.
In March 1996 Rob was promoted to Officer in Charge (OIC) at Springsure Station before his transfer to Clermont where he served as OIC from 11th November 1996 to 22nd March 2004.
Rob served across Central Region before he became OIC at Clifton Ambulance Station.
After retiring he and his wife Lola moved to the Fraser Coast.
He was 71 years old at the time of his death.
