Foundation Gift to Homestead
Last week, The Allora Homestead was presented with a syringe driver by Rod Kelly on behalf of the Belinda McGowan Foundation.

Syringe drivers are small battery-powered pumps that deliver a steady flow of medication through a small tube just under the skin. At a cost of $4,200 syringe drivers are mostly used for palliative care.
This medical device was funded through a grant from Acciona.
The Foundation is named after Belinda McGowan, who contracted lung cancer while serving with the RAAF.
While in palliative and end-of-life care, Belinda experienced first-hand the inadequacy of medical equipment in smaller hospitals and it was her wish that remote and regional communities have access to the best equipment available.
Bruce McGowan, deeply moved by his wife Belinda’s battle with cancer, is the driving force behind The Belinda McGowan Foundation.
