The 2025-26 Queensland Budget is delivering a permanent $500,000 funding boost to the Show Societies Grants Program.

The close to four grand boost is on top of historical annual allocations for each show.

The support also provides funding for an investigation into the economic factors impacting Queensland’s shows.

Minister for Fire, Disaster Recovery and Volunteers Ann Leahy said this support is well-overdue.

“Queenslanders mark Ag Shows in their calendars months in advance, and I’m glad to ensure this tradition can continue for generations to come,” Ms Leahy said.

Queensland Ag Show President David Wilson welcomed the support.

“We are incredibly thankful to the Queensland Government for this significant funding commitment,” Mr Wilson said.

“The importance of agricultural shows to Queensland’s communities cannot be overstated.

“They provide a space for community engagement, foster local economies, and support the agricultural sector.

“This funding will go a long way in helping shows maintain their viability and continue to provide these valuable services.”

The 2026 Clifton Show will be held from Friday to Sunday, 13 to 15 February.
