Gail Lee remembered as 40-over cricket returns

A combined Kulpi-Bowenville North XI beat a combined Millmerran-Pittsworth side in a 40-over match at Millmerran on Saturday as both teams paid tribute to Bowenville President Jason Lee’s mother Gail, who died last week.

The North XI chased down 160 to win by six wickets.

Captain Corey Dioth top scored with a fifty and was ably supported by Tim Tighe.

For South, Jordan O’Shea took two wickets and Brett Wilson also bowled well.

Earlier, Ben Cavanagh had led the way for South XI with a fifty, but apart from Sam McGinn, was not backed up.

Jeremy Tighe and Alind Roy were in the wickets.

Both teams wore black armbands in respect of Gail Lee, mother of Jason.
