Gaol unveiled
The Mental Health Awareness day held at Rudd's Pub on Saturday, 11 October coincided with a special event to acknowledge the progress being made in the Old Nobby Gaol restoration project.
BEHIND BARS: One of the masterminds behind the Nobby Gaol restoration Evan Jones with Toowoomba Region Mayor Geoff McDonald, a big supporter of the project.
The gaol was moved back to Nobby, now standing across from Rudd’s Pub, around two months ago.
It was donated by the Jackson family.
It is hoped a big carnival-like celebration can be he held during Easter next year when the Nobby Gaol is finished.
With the exterior now painted, there is still some work to do painting the interior, as well as landscaping.
