Goomburra Fires
By Tuesday, 31 October, the Goomburra fires were under control after many days of fire fighting and back burning.
Each day about half a dozen units are attending the fires which are still burning in the hills.
The main problem at this time are the huge logs that can continue burning for weeks.
However the Deputy Fire Warden Don Burge says the aim is to keep it boxed in and keep it in the hills.
A rough estimate of the area burnt was 4 to 5 kilometres by a couple of kilometres wide.
No structures have been lost and Gordon Country has not been affected.
