Right from the kick-off the Eagles were switched on and Taylah Horrobin scored the first of her two tries in the second minute.

There were three double scorers with Player of the Match Katelyn Collie and Morgan Prentice being the other two.

Highfields led 24-0 at half time and went on with it in the second half.

Katelyn Collie was tremendous as was Morgan Prentice at the back.

But there was not a poor player on the Highfields side.

It just was not Oakey’s day.

The Bears failed to make ten metres in the initial kick-off and that summed up their day.

Emmie Creevey and Katelyn Anderson tried hard for the Bears.

Irrespective of the final result, they are to be congratulated on a wonderful season.

Highfields captain Tee Rogers said she was speechless.

“I’m so happy,” she said.

Player of the Match Katelyn Collie said it was a special feeling.

“The girls worked so hard this season and we just got over the line,” Collie said.

Oakey coach Cameron Donaldson said he was disheartened.

“Highfields are a class side,” he said.

“I think we played our Grand Final last week.

“Last year, we had a lot of toxicity at the club and I really wanted to change that and I think we’ve done that.

“We’ll be back next year.”
