Is 60kmh speed limit now too fast?
The time has probably come for authorities to take a serious look at the speed limit applicable to Main Street at Westbrook.
Even though when this photo was taken it was early in the morning and school holidays were in full swing, the build up of traffic was beginning.
On a normal a week day both sides of the street are packed with parked vehicles.
With the refurbished IGA supermarket attracting more customers and the opening of the new pre-school centre, the risk of a serious incident is growing.
Perhaps it’s time for the speed limit to be dropped to 50kmh - at least between Ferguson Street and Progress Avenue.
