It’s koala count time

November is the expected peak of the local mating season for our koalas, which makes it the perfect time for the Toowoomba Region Koala Count!

The first of the koala count days was held at Crows Nest on Saturday.

There will be three more this month with Pittsworth next on the list.

Those interested in taking part can meet at the Pittsworth Function Centre in Hume Street at 8am this Saturday, November 15.

Further count mornings will be at Goombungee on November 22 and at Mt. Lofty on November 29.

Every day is a great day to go koala spotting but this month is the best time to report your sightings.

So, what better excuse to get out into the great outdoors and look for our furry friends, like this sweet fella (pictured) spotted recently near Millmerran.

The best way to report your sighting is via the QWildlife app.
