Jovial day at Maclagan Squeezebox Festival
The annual Maclagan Squeezebox Festival was held on Saturday at Maclagan Hall, concluding with a dance in the evening.
Attendance was down at the Squeezebox Festival due to the heat.
Hosts were Catherine Day and Vince Fuda.
Catherine played a series of tunes including the Style Musette, Tico Tico, Autumn Leaves, Waltzing Matlida, All I Have to Do is Dream, Czardas, Top of the World and Las Altenitas.
Vince played O Sole Mio, “Besame Mucho” (Kiss Me a Lot), Piano Man, Love Theme from the Godfather, Flight of the Angels, Can’t Help Falling in Love, and La Cumparsita.
Players came from across Southern Queensland and interstate.
Fourteen-years-old Oliver from Toowoomba was the youngest player on the day.
Festival veterans Eddie Steger and event founder Les Weedon made the trip (Les in a taxi) and both had a great day out chatting with old friends.
