Junior Warriors homing in on finals
Wattles Juniors made their presence felt across the Darling Downs on Saturday with competition Round 12 fixtures, the Under 6, 8, 10, 11 and 12 teams in action in Warwick & District JRL games against the MIT Jets (Millmerran-Inglewood-Texas) at Inglewood’s McIntyre Sports Complex.

The Under 13, 13/14 Development Cup, 15 and 17 teams headed to Toowoomba’s Gold Park for Toowoomba Junior Rugby League fixtures against the Southern Suburbs Junior Tigers.
It was a Saturday off for the Wattles Under 15 Girls League Tag line-up, all enjoying a bye Round.
Club President Aaron Gilmore is enthusiastic about the young Warriors chances heading into the Toowoomba Junior Rugby League finals series.
“We could well have up to four teams running on in the opening round of semi-finals on August 30th.”

Warriors Under 8 team turned up in Inglewood to challenge the MIT Jets team in full force.
“It was a warm sunny day that got the kid’s off to a great start” said Coach Rod Johnstone.
The Warrior’s kicked into gear against the MIT side with plenty of enthusiasm and drive, producing some quality hit ups and tackles.
The tables started to turn in favour of the Jets due to a couple of quick sprinters they possessed.
The tackles then started to lack quality as time went on, which only added to the higher score for MIT against the little Warriors.
