Keeping our kids safe

Five years ago, a small group of dedicated Cambooya State School parents decided that it was time to make the roads around the school safer for our community.

Cambooya State School crossing supervisor Ashlee Mesken (centre), pictured alongside her colleagues Marg and Veronica, has been recognised for her dedication to the school community over the past five years.

They co-ordinated with the Department of Transport and Main Roads and completed the necessary training to ensure the crossing supervisor program was put in place.

Rain, hail and shine, Cambooya State School has had a “lollipop lady” helping our parents, staff and students to get to and from our school safely every day for the past five years due to the efforts of these parents.

Ashlee Mesken was one of the founding “lollipop ladies” and was recognised recently by the Department of Transport and Main Roads for five years of service ensuring our students arrive safely at school.

Congratulations Ashlee and thank you for keeping the Cambooya community safe.
