Kingsthorpe development approved
A 96-lot housing development has been approved for Talisker Street at Kingsthorpe.

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) approved the development application by Talisker Kingsthorpe Pty Ltd through Nexus Urban Consultants on Tuesday October 14. The former family farm in the centre of Kingsthorpe is now set to be developed into 96 lots.
TRC has asked for more detailed traffic impact analysis if traffic flow is increased by more than 5 per cent on the surrounding road intersections over the first year of the estate’s opening.
The development is expected to generate:
▪ Queen Street: an additional 44 trips in the AM peak (9 in, 35 out), 45 trips in the PM peak (31 in, 14 out) and 392 daily trips
▪ Talisker Street (south): an additional 38 trips in the AM peak (8 in, 30 out), 38 trips in the PM peak (26 in, 12 out) and 332 daily trips.
The development’s draft Traffic Impact Assessment application was amended by TRC to include provision of a priority road crossing across the proposed Road 3 (located in layout on right) along the frontage of Talisker Road.
Stormwater easements will be provided to help mitigate the flow of water south through the area toward Gowrie Creek during rain events.
Under the conditions of TRC’s approval, there must be no increase in peak flow rates downstream from the subject land for storm events.
