At the northern end of the oval, under a plastic marquee the ladies of the Wattles Warriors Rugby League Club were treated to a comfier afternoon of footy than a camp chair, tin and snacks from the canteen.

They were treated to more than just a game of footy between the Warriors and the Danes who had made the way from Pittsworth to battle it out for the Jack Duggan-Harry Sutton shield.

The Ladies Day was a civilised affair, contrasting against the ruggedness of rugby league, inside the marquee it was beautiful, the food and drinks looked great and all the ladies were dressed up and looking lovely.

It was a comfortable spot from which to watch the hard-fought Wattles’ win, which wasn’t decided until the 80th minute with a penalty from Tom Hatch.

Attendees Louisa Christensen, Lily Muggleton, Susan Smith and Maryanne Hamblin were all enjoying the spread and the games of footy being played over the day.
