Local projects funded in Qld budget
Bunker’s Hill State School, Clifton State High School and many region-wide projects and initiatives are the beneficiaries of the 2025–26 Queensland Budget, unveiled in late June.

Member for Condamine Pat Weir said the Budget delivered for regional communities, including additional frontline biosecurity officers, the new Toowoomba Hospital as part of the Hospital Rescue Plan and delivering a new Equestrian Centre of Excellence at the Toowoomba Showgrounds as part of the 2032 Olympics.
Mr Weir said Bunker’s Hill State School will have new accessible amenities with funding of $100,000 and Clifton State High School will receive $1.792 million to upgrade amenities.
There is also $3 million in funding for the Toowoomba Southern Water Treatment Plant in 2025-2026 out of a total spend of $15 million to continue construction of water treatment and supply works for the four communities of Cambooya, Greenmount, Nobby and Clifton, which Mr Weir described as a vital infrastructure project.
“...Finally a budget that delivers for the people of the Condamine electorate after years of Labor mismanagement and complete disregard for rural and regional seats, where much of the economic wealth of Queensland originates from.
“This is a responsible budget delivered by a responsible government, where every dollar is accounted for,” he said.
In Toowoomba, $2.2 million has been allocated to critical maintenance for Queensland Museum Cobb+Co, to assist in the delivery of museum activities and exhibitions.
Entry to Cobb+Co Museum is free for all Toowoomba Region residents.
The Darling Downs will also benefit from $100 Back to School Boost vouchers, the $200 Play On! Sports Vouchers program, more frontline health workers, more police on the beat and new social and community housing, with housing being constructed at South Toowoomba, Newtown and Miles.
Under the Hospital Rescue Plan, the Government will deliver the new Toowoomba Hospital, adding at least 118 new beds to offer at least 538 overnight beds.
The hospital will now have all its health services located at the Baillie Henderson site, including a new cardiac lab, additional dialysis and an expanded emergency department.
Additional funding in 2025–26 will grow the health workforce to 5,797 across the Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service.
